About Our Club

Wirral Model Boat Club was established around 40 years ago by a group of local enthusiasts making all types of model boats. Some specialise in naval craft, some local ferries, pilot boats and tugs, which are still so much a feature of the Mersey.

Sailing yachts is now a thriving section of the club and race regularly on Friday mornings at Ashton Park, West Kirby. We sail modified Victoria class boats which are an inexpensive kit boat offering competitive racing.

Our members have a wide range of experience and skills which they are more than happy to share with aspiring model builders or sailors. Visitors are always welcome to come along and have a chat with us.

We meet at the Hoylake Social Club in Trinity Road on the third Wednesday of the month at 8.00pm for a social get together, often with a speaker on a maritime subject
